Constructing Identity: Loud Whispers, Lasting Echoes

Fasting with the Heart, Returning with the Heart July 20, 2015

Eid Mubarak to you and yours!

The origin of Eid is “to return”, and one of the derivatives of Qalb (the heart) is also “to return”

“And surely to our Lord we must return” (43:14)

The only way of return which benefits the believer is as –

“one who brings to Allah a pure, sound heart” (26:89)

May we be counted amongst those who face Allah this Eid with such whole, radiant hearts. May Allah accept with a beautiful acceptance all our efforts to return to Him in Ramadan. May Allah bring us all together in the sacred fellowship of hearts

“And hold fast, all together, by the rope of Allah and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude Allah’s favour on you; for you were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace, you became brethren … ” (3:103)

With Love and Hope
